The Snow Queen

The Snow Queen is not the heroine in Hans Christian Anderson's story, although she is the title character. She might be an antagonist of sorts, but certainly not an evil character. I included her in the collection because I wanted to do something very monochromatic and she seemed to fit the idea, and she will make a good January.

Neat...but how come you went for the Snow Queen rather than a Snow Princess?

In the story The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson, the character is a queen. She isn't really the main character but she brings about the chain of events that make up the story. she is often portrayed as a villain or evil,
but I don't see her that way. I think she is what she is... the spirit of winter, which is cold and hard and always changing, but also beautiful, calm and quiet.
I was going to say that I am trying to depict characters who aren't always princesses, but I guess now that I look at them all, even the ones who start out from humble circumstances, such as a servant girl or a miller's daughter eventually rise to a position of status at the end of the story.

Besides... If she's now a queen, doesn't that mean that she was once a princess? ;-)

Love it Jeff! I really like this one a lot... and love the updates you've done on the others that I'd seen before. :-)

Best!
