Cinderella
This one has been a long time coming. I think I have actually started painting her four times and actually finished the painting twice. My nieces tell me that Cinderella is blond. I think I have always pictured her as a brunette, because my sister's name is Cindy and she has dark hair.

The Snow Queen
The Snow Queen is not the heroine in Hans Christian Anderson's story, although she is the title character. She might be an antagonist of sorts, but certainly not an evil character. I included her in the collection because I wanted to do something very monochromatic and she seemed to fit the idea, and she will make a good January.

Morgiana
Anyone who has read Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves knows that the servant girl, Morgiana is the true heroine of the story. Without this clever girl's wicked imagination, Ali Baba would never have escaped the schemes of the treacherous thieves.

A Real Princess
This one might make a good February, just because of the palette. I don't usually use so much pink, but I branched out a little. It was tough, the color you see, is actually the third tint of pink that I finally liked.
The Princess is about to have the worst night's sleep of her life.
Happy Birthday Little Robin.

The Little Mermaid
Happy Birthday Scarlet! And thanks to Delanie on this one for reminding me that the scene should be at dawn on a ship.

Princess Badoura
Another heroine from The 1001 Arabian Nights.. Badoura is brought briefly together with Prince Camaralzman by two Djinn who want to compare the fairest mortals in the world. The Princess and Prince immediately fall in love, but are transported back to their homes, China and Persia, by the Djinn The rest of the story tells of their search to find each other again. In her adventures, Badoura, disguised as a youth, becomes the king of an island. This is how I chose to depict her.

Elise - The Wild Swans
I am currently working on a series depicting heroines of fairy tales. There is a suggestion that perhaps they could be made into a calendar or something. This is the first one I finished. She is from the Hans Christian Andersen story The Wild Swans. I think it would make a good illustration for October.
